DRUPA RESIDENCY - CALL FOR ENTRIES 2025

Project Selection for the Drupa Centre Residency Program, 2025 Season

The selection process is open to individual artists and emerging, independent professional collectives working in the fields of visual and performing arts.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 16, 2025

Drupa Centre is a transversal, open, and plural curatorial project aiming to host and enhance the diversity of current trends and research within the art scene. It strives to be a place of connection and transformation, a creative home and workshop where poetic visions can unfold, meet, and generate new paths. Our artist residencies provide a space where the intimate and domestic intertwine with the aesthetic and poetic dimensions of creative processes. Here, time is not subordinate to production but becomes an ally for exploration and dialogue. Artists, immersed in the tranquility and rhythm of nature, are invited to live and create in a shared space that fosters human and cultural exchange.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

We are looking for projects with a distinctive trait: completed works, works in progress, or experimental approaches to dramaturgy, choreography, and composition, focusing on audiences, languages, and spaces. This is a call to those who inhabit and go through the boundaries of art, pushing toward new expressive directions in dance, theater, cinema, music, painting, photography, and writing. It is an invitation to those who seek to narrate and express themselves through intimate or bold nuances.

Submitted projects will be evaluated by the artistic direction in order to be included in the residency program. At the end of each residency, a public presentation will take place.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

The call is open to individual artists and groups (up to a maximum of five members), from all over the world. Proposals may include unpublished projects, previously showcased works, and research paths in development. Autonomy in managing audio and lighting is preferred but not mandatory.

HOW TO APPLY

We invite applicants to submit materials that best represent their project or research and effectively showcase its essence. To apply, please complete the application form available at the following link by March 16, 2025:

PROJECT SELECTION

The selection will be carried out by the artistic direction, who will carefully review each proposal, prioritizing those that can seamlessly and meaningfully integrate into the 2025 season. All applicants, regardless of the outcome, will receive a response. For the selected projects, the curatorial team will work closely with the artists to develop a customized residency plan tailored to the potential of the project. The selection process will not merely mean picking one final choice, but it will also represent an opportunity to initiate a creative dialogue. Together with the selected applicants, all organizational aspects (timelines, periods, and modalities) will be defined in detail.

All details regarding accommodation, meals, travel expenses, and fees will be addressed directly with the artists only if their project is selected. The curatorial team will reach out to the chosen artists with a customized residency proposal, designed to align with the project's potential and the opportunities offered by the Drupa Centre spaces.

The expected duration of each residency period is between 5 and 10 days within the timeframe from April to November 2025.

RESULT ANNOUNCEMENT

Representatives of the selected projects will be contacted personally by April 16, 2025.
